Corporate Retreat

Jenny came back from the corporate retreat different. It wasn’t just the way she was dressing, or that she now insisted on going by Jennifer, those things were weird but completely explainable. But she was acting very differently to her chirpy, fun loving self. My kind, loving wife of 10 years was all of a sudden finding every little reason to belittle and emasculate me.
I just couldn’t explain what was going on. Whenever I tried to bring it up and ask what I had done, she would just sigh, say nothing and begin touching up her makeup.
Then we went to one of her work’s corporate functions and it all became so much clearer. All of her colleagues were acting the same towards their husbands and partners. Throughout the meal it felt like they were having a competition to see whose husband was the most pathetic. It was horrible.
After the meal we all seemed to huddle together while our wives dispersed to socialise. We all ended up sharing horror stories about how bitchy our wives had become since the retreat. We all figured they had been to some feminist seminar that had got them all hating men for just being men. I had myself hoping and even believing it would all blow over in a couple of months.
That was when I looked over at my wife across the room, She was pressing up close to one of the executives, fiddling with his tie. She whispered something in his ear, they turned to look at us and just burst out laughing. As she led him out of the room by his tie, his hand cupped on her ass. My heart sank, I knew this wasn’t just a feminism thing. It was a whole other thing, and it was something much, much worse.
