Moving House

Paige was worried about moving, her Mom was dragging her halfway across the country and she couldn’t bear the thought of having to try and make friends and learn to fit in in a new school. She had never been particularly unpopular, but being plain as she was Paige had always had to work hard to be accepted and avoid getting picked on by the popular girls.
Luckily Paige had heard about something that could provide her with the perfect solution. The so called “Elixir” was supposed to help girls become pretty and popular. Rumour had it that Jenna Samuels had used it to become the queen bee and head bitch of their school.
With her impending move looming, Paige was determined to get her hands on some of this Elixir. She risked the wrath of Jenna Samuels and her gang of bitches as she begged and pleaded with her to give her some Elixir or at least share the secret of where she got it. Eventually Jenna relented and promised to get hold of a vial before Paige left town, in exchange for Paige keeping her secret and doing all of Jenna’s homework for the rest of the school year.
On the eve of the big move Jenna finally handed over the little vial of elixir. Paige was somewhat apprehensive about the whole thing so she asked what exactly she should expect.
“Don’t worry, you’re gonna love it babe!” Jenna said and explained that before taking the Elixir she had been plain and boring just like Paige, but once the elixir had turned her into the hottest girl in school she had realised how good it felt to be a bitch.
She had such a wicked grin on her face as she preceded to tell Paige tale after tale of manipulating everyone into doing what she wanted, even convincing half of the football team to cheat on their girlfriends with her.
Jenna’s words had Paige rattled, she was beginning to have second thoughts about this. Was it really worth it if she was going to become a bitch like Jenna. Of course Jenna made it sound like a good thing, but Paige had always been on the other side and wasn’t sure she wanted to become like that. For safekeeping she took the vial and packed it away in her jewellery box, until she had figured out what she wanted to do.
Paige spent the entire journey to the new house agonising about what she should do and continued to agonise for several more hours as she un-packed her things into her new room. Eventually she decided to go ahead and drink the elixir anyway, this was supposed to be a new start after all. But once she had made the decision she couldn’t seem to find her jewellery box anywhere.
Paige searched through her boxes more and more frantically,  but her jewellery box was nowhere to be found. Once she had checked all of the boxes that were in her room, she ran down the stairs calling out “Mom! Have you seen my jewelry box?”
When she reached the bottom of the stairs she caught sight of her Mom and gasped. Her Mom, who looked as though she had lost about 40 pounds was wearing a tight, form fitting dress. When she turned around Paige saw that her face was covered in perfectly applied makeup and all of her wrinkles and imperfections were gone. But the thing that really shocked Paige was that her Mom now had the same wicked and bitchy look etched on her face that Jenna had always sported.
“Oh Mom! No!” Paige said as she clasped her hands over her mouth in despair at the crushing realisation of what had happened.
